With its fascinating history, beautiful countryside, friendly people and not to mention delicious pasta and gelati, what more could you want from a destination. From exploring the Cinque Terre to splashing through the water in Venice or exploring the Grecian ruins in Sicily, I am always left craving more.
Following my extensive travels through Asia, I have also developed a place in my heart for Thailand and Laos and their laidback natures. There is nothing like kicking back on a beach or visiting a Buddhist temple and soaking up the serenity of these destinations. But then again it’s hard to go past the hectic nature of the great cities of the world like Bangkok and New York, or witnessing true nature with a pride of 35 lions and a baby elephant or even the beehive domes of Australia’s own Bungle Bungles.
I also have to admit a deep, dark secret – I am actually a Kiwi, and therefore love the beautiful scenery and endless activities on offer in New Zealand. Convincing my apprehensive mother to do the scenic helicopter trip over Fox Glacier and Mt Cook, and seeing the look of utter enjoyment on her face as we landed on top of glacier is one of my greatest travel achievements.
